Having been dumped by his girlfriend, and with no inspiration for his next novel, Antoine turns to his friend, a publisher, for help. He is advised to seduce a random woman, keep a diary of the flow of seduction and finally abandon her before publishing the book of his psychological observations. Unfortunately, somewhere a long the way, he falls in love with her.
