Tchaikovsky: Symphony No. 2 in C minor, Little Russian
One of Tchaikovsky's joyful compositions, it was successful right from its premiere. As it contains a wealth of authentic folksong, the work's unofficial title is "Little Russian Symphony", attributable to the fact that so many Ukrainian folksongs are employed in it. Valery Gergiev conducts Tchaikovsky with the Mariinsky Orchestra at the Zaryadye Hall.
