Anthony Bourdain Parts Unknown

Tony visits the Greek Islands to kick off the new season of Parts Unknown in a region known for its sun, sand, and charming lifestyle, rich in history and known for its infamous healthy diet. Bourdain and the crew settle into the idyllic island of Naxos, largest of the Cyclades and mythical home to Dionysus, the Greek god of wine and also madness.

Chicago will be revealed through the stories of the people who live there - primarily a select few, drawn from the regulars at The Old Town Ale House, one of Chicago's most iconic bars. Why the Old Town Ale House? Because every night all walks of life - rich and poor, black and white, young and old - pass through its doors for a cold beer and intelligent conversation...or maybe just the beer.

Tony returns to the Philippines by way of Manila, its crowded capitol city. Home to over 12 million inhabitants, Manila is hot, tropical, smoggy, fascinating, and especially chaotic in the lead up to Christmas. Filipinos take the holiday seriously, and the 100 days before Christmas are like one long party.

Tony travels to Cologne to talk about beer, music, art - and the issue currently on every German's mind: immigration and the hundreds of assaults, allegedly perpetrated by refugees, throwing Germany's open-minded immigration policies into question.

Tony lands in Senegal's capital, Dakar, which is the furthest western point on the entire continent. He gets his bearings by meeting up with NPR Africa correspondent Ofiebia Quist-Arcton at a local market. Although she is Ghanaian, Ofiebia has spent over 10 years in Senegal and has a deep appreciation of the people & its unique position within West Africa.

Tony learns about the Buenos Aires' custom of bringing folding chairs and a cooler to make a day of watching the planes come and go. He finds it's not a bad way to spend an hour or two - drink in hand and plane-generated wind blowing through your hair.
