As she struggles to find out how much Grayson (Jackson Hurst) knows about her and Deb, Jane (Brooke Elliott) uncovers a dark secret that could land a client (guest star Jessica Tuck) in prison. Old tensions are renewed when Owen’s (Lex Medlin) estranged brother (guest star Colin Egglesfield) asks him to sue a strip club.

While Jane (Brooke Elliott) fights for an innocent man’s parole, Grayson (Jackson Hurst) and the firm’s new lawyer (guest star Virginia Williams) claim a cruise ship line’s negligence caused their client’s divorce. Grayson confronts the truth about Deb and Jane.

Tensions arise between Jane (Brooke Elliott) and Belinda (guest star Virginia Williams) as they defend an out-of-control aging rock star (guest star Rick Springfield) against being expelled from his band. With Grayson reincarnated as a death row inmate (Jeffrey Pierce), Jane (Brooke Elliott) must stop his execution. Kim (Kate Levering) represents a choreographer whose work was stolen by a pop star. Owen’s (Lex Medlin) panic attacks jeopardize his and Stacy’s (April Bowlby) wedding.

As Jane (Brooke Elliott) seeks to ban a dietary supplement that killed a teenage football player, Kim (Kate Levering) fights to save the job of a bailiff who stopped her from being mugged while dressed as a superhero.

In the finale episode of Drop Dead Diva, after having left the firm, Jane (Brooke Elliott) faces Owen (Lex Medlin) in a lawsuit against an anti-whaling group. As Stacy (April Bowlby) tries to salvage her wedding plans, Ian (Jeffrey Pierce) discovers that he and Teri (Margaret Cho) have a tumultuous past.
