Road To Avonlea

Sara Stanley, the privileged daughter of a wealthy Montreal merchant, is sent to live with her deceased mother's relatives in the rural town of Avonlea, Prince Edward Island when her father encounters some business troubles.

Sara inadvertently helps a con man skip town with the funds raised for the school library. In an attempt to regain what was stolen, Sara launches a number of money raising schemes, including door-to-door solicitations and enlists Jasper Dale to help put on a Magic Lantern show.

Circumstances throw two of the most disagreeable people in all of Avonlea, Rachel Lynde and Alexander Abraham, along with Sara and Felix, in close quarters, while quarantining during a Smallpox outbreak.

In order to silence the gossip about her years of spinsterhood Marilla invents an old suitor, "Duncan McTavish" and says that he proposed to her many years ago on a visit to New Brunswick-only to have a man named Duncan McTavish come to Avonlea!

Sara and The King children discover that Old Lady Lloyd, the wealthiest resident of Avonlea, is not all she seems when a young singer comes to town and stirs up old memories.

Alec and Janet go on a trip, leaving Felicity in charge of her siblings and cousins. Her know-it-all attitude quickly leads to mayhem. Hetty settles a water rights dispute with the owner of a neighboring farm.

Janet's sister Abigail's former suitor, Malcolm, returns to Avonlea after many years, set on wooing the prim Abigail once and for all.

Malcolm and Abigail are married now and return from their honeymoon to find a baby left on their porch. They face the decision of keeping him or letting him be taken by Rachel or Hetty, who both feel they have a claim to him.

Peg Bowen, who is known as the "Witch of Avonlea," is convinced to attend Church, sending tongues wagging and driving Peg away. When influenza takes a hold on two children though, its Peg who comes to the rescue.

It's Harvest Festival time and Felicity is sure she will win best costume. She agrees to help Clemmie Ray with her costume but rude Sally Potts and Jane Spry have different ideas. The girls make a bet that Felicity can't make Clemmie over in time for the Festival.

Felix is caught in a violent storm and is forced to take shelter in the cottage of the notorious Peg Bowan, the "Witch of Avonlea!"

While chasing treasure and ghosts, Felix and Andrew discover a romance stirring between Jasper Dale and Olivia.

When Sara's father is finally acquitted of all charges and sends for her to come home, she must decide if she will stay in Avonlea or go back to Montreal.
