Gala is a giant tortoise. She lives near a pond, where she often has a dip. Her shell is her house, and she can hide inside it when it gets cold. She can live for up to 150 years!

Kyro is small enough to fit in the palm of your hand, but when he stretches out his wings, they're as long as your arm. He lives in a cave with his brothers and sister. He likes to go fishing in the river at night.

Sela is the fastest swimmer in the ocean. He's a shark and he has lots of sharp teeth. Throughout his lifetime, his teeth fall out to be replaced with new ones. He loves to eat fish, and he never stops to rest.

Weke is a weaver bird, and he builds great big nests in the forests of Africa. He has lots of little chicks, and he takes very good care of them.

Not many animals can live in the desert, but Cami the camel can! She has a large hump where she stores up reserves of food. She can cross the desert without getting tired, and she could drink a swimming pool dry.

Triki the frog lives in a stream in the Amazon rain forest . She loves to hop from leaf to leaf, and swim among the reeds with her family. Her skin is all the colours of the rainbow, and she loves to eat insects.

Toto is a chimpanzee. He lives in the jungle as part of a big family. He's very friendly, and he spends all day playing and running around with his brothers and sisters. He loves to eat ants.

Pam lives in the jungle. Her colouring means she's almost invisible among the shadows. She's very agile, and she can climb right up to the highest branches of the trees. From there, she keeps an eye on what's happened down below.

Meli the honey bee lives in a nest full of honeycomb, along with her sisters - thousands of them. Every day she flies from flower to flower to collect pollen, to feed the Queen Bee back at the nest.

Simba is a lion cub who lives on the plains of Africa. When he grows up, he'll have long, sharp teeth for hunting. He loves to eat meat. He could eat five whole chickens every single day!

Iggy is an iguana who lives on the Galapagos islands. He sunbathes on the rocks by the sea. He's a great swimmer, and he feeds on seaweed.

Tursi the dolphin is a great acrobat. He loves to play, and jump over the waves. He lives with the rest of his family, travelling the seas in search of food.

Ennie is an otter who lives in the sea. She loves to travel round on her mother's tummy, as if it was a boat. She eats mussels and clams, which she breaks open on her belly, using a rock.

Toco the toucan lives in a huge tree. He has a huge multi-coloured bill. He uses his beak to pick berries and fruit. If you get too close to him, he screeches so loud it can be heard all over the jungle.

When he's asleep he looks like a great big ball of wool - but it's actually Li, the panda bear. Li lives in the bamboo forests of China. He loves to eat bamboo shoots, but he's very lazy. He doesn't like to walk too far.

Tuiga the giraffe has just been born, but she's still as tall as a truck. She will grow to become the tallest animal on the savannah, and that's why other animals leave her alone. She loves eating delicate shoots from the tops of the trees.

Electro is an eel who lives in a river. She hunts other river creatures. You mustn't get too close to her - if you touch her it would be like putting your fingers in an electric socket.

Nina lives in a field surrounded by flowers. She loves sitting in the sun and fluttering round all day long. Her little ones are caterpillars, and they're growing up among the leafy plants in the field.

Deep in the forest lives Danny the deer. His majestic antlers are enough to scare off the bravest intruder. That's why he's the King of the forest!

No-one in the pond is a better shot than Archie, the archer fish. He never misses the target when he's hunting, and the beautiful colours of his scales make everyone stop and stare.
