The World From Above

This journey begins at the Isles of Shoals off the Maine coast before crossing to the mainland and the harbor town of Kittery. From there the journey heads northeast up the coast past small harbors and rivers to Kennebunkport and the summer home of a presidential family. Our journey ends at the nearby historic shipyard of Bath.

This journey begins at Seville, the capital of the Andalusia region. We then head south towards the coast and the ancient harbor city of Cadiz. From there it is east to the rocky peninsula of Gibraltar, before turning north up the Costa del Sol to the resort towns of Marbella and then Fuengirola. From there it's just a short distance to the spectacular rock formations in the El Torcal Park.

This journey begins at Kalundborg on the west side of Zealand before heading south along the coast to the Great Belt Bridge and on to the island of Tasinge. From there it is north to Odense and the birthplace of Hans Christian Andersen, before turning west to Jutland and Billund, the home of Lego. Inland we fly over the vast Limfjord before turning north to the very tip of Denmark at Skagen.

This journey begins with the Channel Islands. The first is Alderney, which was once the world's most fortified island. From there it's south, past dangerous rocks on the Casquets, to Guernsey, the second largest island in the group, with its capital St. Peter Port on the east coast. Continuing east, and past small islands, is Sark, still home to ancient laws and parliament.

This journey begins in northern Italy at Verona before heading east past vineyards and castles to the cultural jewel of Padua. From there it is east along the Brenta canal to the Venetian Lagoon and Venice which has stood for over 1,500 years. The journey ends at Vicenza, whose buildings in the city have influenced architecture around the world for centuries.

This journey begins as we approach the south west corner of Mallorca and then on to Palma, the capital of the island. From there we head north into the mountains and along the coast to the hilltop village of Deia. Following the dramatic coastline we pass Cala San Vincente before arriving at the lighthouse on the Cap de Formentor. This journey ends back at Palma during a glorious sunset.

This journey begins in the open grassland around Spearfish on the west side of the state before heading south into the Black Hills National Forest. To the south is Rapid City, the second largest conurbation in South Dakota, and a center for tourism, because nearby is one of the most popular attractions in the whole of the United States, Mount Rushmore.

This journey starts in Williamsburg before moving on to the James River and the plantation houses along its banks. Downstream is Jamestown where early English settlers arrived in the 17th century. From there we head to the historical site of Yorktown where the English surrendered to George Washington. Then, to the wild Peninsula of creeks and marshes at Assateague Island with its wild horses.

Our journey begins on the coast at Saint Nazaire and the mouth of the River Loire. And along the river valley are some of the finest castles, palaces, and houses in France. As we head up river past Nantes, the main towns on this journey will be Angers, Tours, Blois, and Orleans. Some of the palaces we will see are enormous, and built over 400 years ago.

This journey begins at Myrtle Beach in the northeast corner of the state where we follow the resort coastline before turning inland across forest and farmland towards one of America's best known road houses: South of the Border. From there we take a look at Woodburn Plantation, an historic fort at Ninety Six before ending the journey at the beautiful Strom Thurmond Lake.

This journey begins at Mizen Head in the southwest corner of Ireland. We then follow the rugged coastline past towers and lighthouses before turning inland to the world famous Blarney Castle, where kissing a stone is said to bring luck. Along the coast is Wexford where we turn north towards the Wicklow Mountains and the final destination at one of Ireland's most beautiful estates, Powerscourt.

This journey starts in the southeast of Scotland, at the oldest golf club in the world. From the capital city, Edinburgh, we follow the Forth river upstream to the historic Forth Bridge. Crossing the rugged islands and peninsulas of the Hebrides we end at a mystical sea cave that's inspired artists and writers for centuries.

This journey crosses part of Bavaria, the largest of Germany's 16 states. Flying over forests and farmlands we find Bayreuth, the home of Wagner's grand operas. We travel to historic Nuremberg, the city that witnessed both the rise and fall of the Nazis. Then it's east along one of the greatest waterways in the world, the Danube.

From Bouillon on the southeast corner of the country, we follow the Semois River through the Ardenne Forest. Along the way, we find the mediaeval town of Dinant, home to a famous beer once brewed by monks. Then on to the great 19th century industrial town of Charleroi. Its canal network extends north towards one of the most important battlegrounds in European history, Waterloo.
