A struggling actor, Momina lands an audition at Kalb-e-Momin Productions, but her differences with the producer take an unfortunate turn. Momina soon realises she cannot let her morals come in the way of her brother's treatment. Meanwhile, Momin tries to make sense of a dream about his mother, Husn-e-Jahan.

Momin's girlfriend introduces him to a special friend but he remains unfazed by whoever comes his way unless it has to do with his success or his childhood. That's when his grandfather shows up at his door- all the way from their hometown in Turkey. Momina is too disturbed to continue her engagement to Faisal.

Momin tries to reason with his grandfather when Abdul Aala disapproves of his work and lifestyle. The urgency for Jehangir's transplant makes Momina show up at another audition in Lahore.

Abdul Aala pays a visit to an old friend, Master Ibrahim, who also happens to give Momina teacher. Momin gets flashbacks to a time his mother had continued as a classic dancer, following her separation from Taha Abdul Aala after eight years.

Momina comes home with the role she auditioned for but is unable to bring back the time Jehangir asked for her. Abdul Aala heads back to Turkey but Momin decides to reconnect with his family heritage.

Momin announces a new film but a change of plans leaves Neha infuriated. Momina is surprised to see Faisal waiting for her.

Momin plans a trip to Turkey to find answers as the flashbacks to his childhood contradict what his grandfather says about Husn-e-Jahan. Neha tries to defame Momin in a press conference against him.

Abdul Aala confesses his attempts to separate Momin's parents several times until Taha mysteriously disappeared from Husn-e-Jahan's life.

Momina starts getting offered big roles after her return to Pakistan. It is revealed that Master Ibrahim was married to Husna. Momin decides to come back to Pakistan.

Momina brings home an Oscars award not long after moving into a new house. Momin gets a call about his grandfather's deteriorating health and rushes back to Turkey.

Momin comes back to work with more clarity. His team is hesitant to suggest Momina's name for the role of Husn-e-Jahan in fear of a strong reaction from him.

Once Momina tries to connect the dots, she finds that Momin's script was never a work of fiction- it's a story about his parents and her own father. Sultan insists on meeting Momin but also forbids her from doing the film.

Momin's film gives him a whole new perspective on life and religion. He agrees to Momina's condition for working on 'Alif'. He then sets out in search of Master Ibrahim.

Sultan recalls the past when Husn-e-Jahan gave him her portraits for sale, which later creates problems in her married life. Sultan narrates the actual story of Husn-e-Jahan to Momina.

Momin gets fascinated by Momina's performance as Husn-e-Jahan and begins to treat her differently.

Momina develops a liking for Momin. Knowing the reality of Husn-e-Jahan, Momina insists on some changes in the script. However, a disagreement makes matters worse for the film.

Momina learns more about her father's role in Husn-e-Jahan's life after Taha's demise. Momin regrets his misconduct towards Momina.

Husn-e-Jahan's role is replaced by another actress, but Momin still regrets losing Momina. His visit to her house brings him face to face with Sultan.
