Anya, a young academic on the cusp of success, is framed for drug possession. On the run from the police, she meets Kristina, a precocious teenager who, like Anya, is an orphan. The pair embark on an unpredictable odyssey hitchhiking across the landscapes of Russia and its neighbouring countries.
