Becker meets with body trainer, Dan Sapin, to discuss Sapin’s divorce settlement from his successful actress wife. At the staff meeting, Sifuentes tells the others he is going to buy a cheap car and doesn’t care about status. Brackman berates Kuzak for his long shot case against the Leheigh Tobacco Co. Kelsey makes a few snide comments to Markowitz and he storms out of the room.

Roxanne cons Becker into being auctioned as a date for some lucky female at a fundraiser. To save face, Becker urges Roxanne to bid on him. However, he’s thrilled when gorgeous Nina Hollender lands him for $5,000.

At the criminal courthouse, Van Owen interrogates plaintiff, Jane Engelman, who claims the defendant, James Beaumont, exposed himself to her. Engelman refuses to repeat the vulgar comments Beaumont made so Judge Wyatt allows her to write them on paper. Van Owen hands it to one of the jurors, a seedy looking man, who just woke up. He thinks the note is from Van Owen and gives her a wink.

Brackman presides over a small claims court case involving young Tammy Schiff and elderly, Joseph Ludlum. Tammy claims she performed a lewd act for Ludlum and was never paid. When Brackman verbally reprimands him, Ludlum lunges at Brackman and is intercepted by Rhonda, the bailiff.

Brackman learns some upsetting things about his late, revered father as he peruses some old papers of his and finds Rusty Farrell, a former film actress and his father's mistress along with her balding son (and his half-brother) Erroll, a sleazy attorney. Meanwhile, the Rohner vs. Gradinger case ends up back in Kelsey's lap, who passes it on to Abby.

Brackman presides over a small claims court dispute between a yuppy couple, Jessica Teicher and Graydon Anderson. He lectures them on the sanctity of marriage and calls a delay for ten days. Minutes later, Rhonda Vasek meets Brackman in his chambers for a romantic liaison.

Brackman presides over a small claims court case between caterer Len Tucker and his client, Ellen Levin. Afterwards, he calls Rhonda into his office and breaks off their affair.

Becker is shell-shocked when he overhears two women in a restaurant discussing his poor reputation as a divorce lawyer. Van Owen meets with eighteen year-old Jeanie Morris. Jeanie recounts how she was sexually accosted by three lawyers while delivering a dance-o-gram.

Brackman drops by Erroll's office and tells him that his blackmailing days are over since Sheila now knows about Brackman's affair. Sifuentes and Lauren share a romantic morning together and agree to meet later that evening.

Benny is arrested for rape and brought to the police station for questioning by Detective Mark Stanziani. Benny repeatedly asks Stanziani to contact Becker. At the staff meeting, Brackman congratulates Kelsey and Markowitz on their upcoming wedding. Roxanne bursts into the room and tells Becker that Benny is in jail.

Brackman sunbathes outside his rented apartment with several other divorcees. A beautiful blond walks up to him and hands him a summons and complaint from Sheila’s attorney.

Brackman flirts with Sandra, his waitress at a Japanese restaurant. Minutes later, Sandra reveals she’s a cop and he’s busted for soliciting an act of prostitution. At the staff meeting, Sifuentes mentions his upcoming case, Emile’s v. Southland Magazine. An argument ensues between the associates involving freedom of the press.

The staff watches television as Rollins appears on the morning show hosted by Gina Westland. Gina questions Rollins on two other young attorneys, Brand Sanford and Rosalie Baskin, on their early success. When Rollins’ ego starts to show, his co-workers feel like strangling him.

Benny is bursting with pride when he announces to Sifuentes and Abby that he has a date later that evening. At the staff meeting, Becker mentions his case involving actor Jack Seiling who is suing the producers of his television show. When the others question Kuzak about Van Owen, he states she has gotten over the murder she witnessed.

Brackman tries to comfort his dying mother, but she wants nothing to do with him. Later at the staff meeting, Brackman questions Kuzak about his court appointed defendant, Andy Prescot, who is accused of murder. Sifuentes mentions his malpractice case against attorney August Redding.

A.D.A. Walter Platt urges Van Owen to cop a plea for murder two for client Thomas Mullaney, but she refuses. Platt’s opening argument details how Kuzak’s client, Andrew Prescot, shot an elderly man in a burglary attempt and Mullaney drove the getaway car.

McKenzie is dumbfounded when Brackman informs him he's fallen in love with his late father's former mistress, Rusty. At the staff meeting, Brackman shows the others a shredder they are all required to use when dealing with confidential information.

Erroll angrily confronts Brackman about his relationship with Rusty. Later at the staff meeting, Brackman questions Rollins’ handling of a case involving seventy-four year old Katherine Crutcher, who was bilked out of her life savings by her business manager.

Ryan tricks Becker into taking off his clothes before they celebrate his birthday in the bedroom. Ryan turns on the lights and Becker is surprised by the entire staff.

Roxanne arrives to work late after being robbed on the bus and bursts into tears in Becker’s arms. At the staff meeting, McKenzie reports on another one of Vernon Kepler’s unwarranted lawsuits.
