Year 1899. Young physician Edward Newgate arrives for an internship at Stonehearst Asylum, a facility for the mentally ill. The institution is run by the charming Dr. Lamb who has replaced old treatments with modern stress-free therapy. Edward meets Elisa, a young woman suffering from hysteria. As he studies her case, doctor begins to suspect that the facility hides a dark and dangerous secret.
