The series follows the adventures of five children after they unearth and befriend a sand fairy. There they discover an ancient, highly sarcastic yet undeniably wise creature who calls himself a psammead , a sand fairy. Now living with the children at their Uncle's Mansion, The psammead has the ability to grant them one wish a day.
