As Endeavour sees in the new year - 1970 - at a Venetian opera, a grisly murder on an Oxford towpath speaks to Thursday’s intuition. Later, Endeavour meets a kindred spirit, while a groundbreaking college project becomes a fatal battle of the sexes.

Investigation leads to a familiar face, where they discover the influence of the right-wing British Movement. Tragedy strikes a second time, this time an Indian restaurant, where a mysterious disappearance and a shocking murder put the strongest family loyalties to the test.

Despite Thursday’s skepticism, he becomes convinced the accidents are the result of foul play, before his investigation looks set to reach right to the heart of CID.
