The routine life of the Palestinian teenager Tamer from Galiläa is stirred by his new classmate Maysaa. To impress her, he joins a plan to replace the Israeli flag at their school with a Palestinian one on Israeli Independence Day, a day of mourning for Palestinians. This act forces Tamer to confront the complexities of his identity under Israeli rule.
