Visions of War: The Negro Soldier

Wings for this Man is a propaganda film produced in 1945 by the U.S. Army Air Forces First Motion Picture Unit about the Tuskegee Airmen, the first unit of African-American pilots in the US military.

This documentary contains extensive film footage of African-Americans fighting in World War II in D-Day, the Battle of the Bulge, Italy, and the Pacific. Numerous interviews with veterans, including Congressional Medal of Honor winners.

Negro Colleges in Wartime is a short propaganda film produced by the Office of War Information in 1943. The film states that "progress and industry" has a new meaning for the present: winning WWII. A brief overview of the war related work at several different black colleges follows, starting with Tuskegee where George Washington Carver was putting his brain to work for the war effort.

This episode contians 4 reels showing a variety of media, like: Negro soldiers and Women's Air Corps (WACs) attend church and go through an obstacle course, Negroes serving in the Spanish-American War, working on the Panama Canal, serving as judges and school teachers, conducting orchestras, playing football, and serving the U.S. Army in World War II.
