Russian Beauty

The 1960s. The Panov family lives in the village of Matkino near Moscow. Mikhail Panov is jealous of his wife for the past: a constant reason for this is his daughter, the beautiful Katya, who is completely different from him, unlike her sister Lyuba.

Roman Valera and Marianna in full swing. At this moment his wife comes to him. This becomes an unpleasant surprise, not only for Marianna, but also for her aunt. Felix wants to meet Katya's parents, they are going to her native village together. There Felix makes her an offer. Then she introduces Katya to her parents.

Katya begins her career as a clothing demonstrator in the Fashion House. Elena Vadimovna presents Panov to Sergey Ivanovich Krutsky's deputy Igor Shnyrev. Katya finds out that she is pregnant and reports this to fashion designer Vienna Krotov. Katya dreams of a child, but Venya advises to have an abortion and pursue a career.

In Paris, the fashion show passes brilliantly. In the newspapers, Panova is called the "national treasure of Soviet Russia." In the room of the Paris Hotel Cate they report on the death of the mother. At the cemetery, Katya learns from the artist Goncharov that he is her real father. Her sister is about to marry.

Galina's wife comes to Valery, a staff member of the newspaper and a freelance employee of state security agencies. Felix accuses his father of shooting hundreds of innocent people. Katya learns that she can never have children. She believes that Venia was responsible for this, advising her to have an abortion before going to Paris.

Valera receives a task from Shnyrev: at the upcoming meeting with the German anti-fascist Erwin Klaus Muller to take photographs compromising Katya. The meeting ends in failure. The German sticks to Katya, who, defending herself, smashes a bottle on his head.

In the London pub Shnyrev shows Felix provocative photos of his wife, taken by Valery during a meeting with a German. He assures Felix that Katya has been cheating on him for a long time and that everyone knows about it. Upset, Felix gets very drunk and asks for political asylum in the UK.

Sister Kati Luba throws her husband. Lyuba blames Katya in everything. The neighbors in the village are turning away from the Panovs, because the Panovs are relatives of a traitor to their homeland. Irina Gekom going to get married. By Kate comes to visit Volodya Firsov, in love with her from his youth.

Kate warns Shnyreva's wife, Tamara, that she is going to blackmail her husband with photos. Tamara breaks love relationship between Shnyrev and Dina. Shnyrev throws his mistress and orders to dismiss her from the fashion house. Katya sends films to Valera, who reports that she is returning to work at the Fashion House, but she is not allowed to travel abroad.

Katya finds out that her candidature is approved for a trip to Paris. Valera, taking advantage of Vera Ivanovna's illness, rewrites her will in his own name. He informs his wife Gale that they now inherit her home after Nechaeva's death.

Kate want to have an abortion. She is trying to commit suicide. But nurse Julia stops her. Venya Krotov brings the book of Felix published in Paris to the hospital. Now Katya understands that Ram has nothing to do with the publication of her intimate photos.
