Max is a troubled man living on the periphery of society. When he becomes the victim of a youth's knife attack, he is forced into early retirement and a period of psychological despair. Following the disappearance of his attacker, it isn't long before Max becomes a prime suspect for murder. Yet darker forces in government seem keen to keep Max out of the public eye.
