Bears evolved millions of years ago. There are 8 species of bears, the smallest, 'The Sun Bear', 4 feet tall and 44 lbs. to the 'Kodiak Bear' at 10 feet tall and weighing over 2,400 lbs. Bears are found in Europe, S. E. Asia, Antarctica and the Americas. Subjects of myths and folklore, bears have always been 'Giants of the Wild'.
