In the five months since Hannah Baker ended her life, most people have tried to move on. Clay finds a disturbing Polaroid in his locker with the note, "Hannah wasn't the only one".

After word of his testimony circulates, Tyler is targeted by the jocks he named as bullies. Skye makes a dangerous decision after Clay admits to her that he's not over Hannah.

Clay and Tony search for Justin, and they convince him to return and testify against Bryce. Justin faces a significant personal issue that may destroy their plan.

Not wanting to face Justin's return, Jessica convinces Alex to skip school and they start to rekindle their old romance. Tyler and Cyrus form a plan to take revenge on school bullies.

Ryan testifies. Jessica goes to group therapy, where she's surprised to see a familiar face from Liberty. Mr. Porter's conversation with Justin's mom unexpectedly turns dangerous.

Justin shows up at school to see Jessica. Zach reveals a devastating, intimate secret. Clay's parents discover Justin has been living in Clay's room and devise a plan to help him.

Jessica attempts to accelerate her recovery but is dealt a major setback. Frustrated by the direction the trial is going, Clay anonymously releases Hannah's tapes online.

In court, the defense makes a revelation that casts doubt on Hannah's relationship with her parents. Clay finds some closure with Skye after visiting her at the treatment center.

Justin returns to his mom's apartment with questionable intentions. After Clay is beaten up, Tyler and Cyrus invite him to join them in retaliating against Liberty's bullies.

With Sheri's help, Clay and Justin sneak into the Clubhouse, where they learn who has been leaving the Polaroids. They realize Bryce's girlfriend, Chloe, may have secrets of her own.

When Bryce returns to school after his testimony, tensions explode. Clay disappears with one of Tyler's guns, after Tyler offers to take him shooting behind his house.

Tyler and Cyrus's vigilante acts are exposed, and Tyler is sent away to a diversion program. The verdict is read, but the question of justice hangs in the air.

The Bakers hold a memorial service for Hannah, and Clay begins to realize what it really means to move on. Tyler makes a decision that could change the culture of Liberty High forever.
