"Flash" Gordon's scientist father has disappeared into a trans-dimensional rift. When aliens begin appearing, Flash & Dale Arden find themselves racing across the alien landscape of the planet Mongo & facing off against the dictator, Ming. Pursued back to Earth by a servant girl & a bounty hunter from Mongo, Flash & Dale must find a mysterious device & keep it out of Ming's hands.

In the second half of the pilot, Flash must team up with his ex-girlfriend, Dale Arden, who travels with him to Mongo to meet Ming the Merciless, the planet's brutal dictator.

Ming's bounty hunter, Baylin, is trapped on Earth and living in Flash's house. To bring Baylin back, Ming sends another hunter, Tyrus, who has a personal connection to her.

A dangerous parasite travels through an errant rift and bites Flash's friend Nick. Dale is left behind to tend to Nick while Flash and Baylin travel to Mongo in search of an antidote.
