In the separatist-controlled city of Luhansk, the Ukrainian language is banned. Nina, a 30-year-old teacher, is forced to teach Russian. When she sees 17-year-old Andrii being arrested for raising a Ukrainian flag, she risks everything to help him. Their relationship develops against a backdrop of repression and propaganda.
