Homer is thrilled to ride on Mr. Burns' private plane to Chicago. It inspires him to get a life coach and apply for a new job

Homer discovers when lying flat on his back he has a beautiful singing voice. He becomes targeted for death by a mysterious groupie.

Homer becomes a tow truck driver to the consternation of others. Meanwhile Marge tries raising Maggie with a controversial child-rearing approach.

Marge goes to the bank and is enmeshed in a robbery. She befriends the robber then has second thoughts.

Bart befriends an alien only to discover he has evil intents; Marge and Homer, unbeknownst to the other, are professional assassins, and Flanders opens a Christian alternative to Halloween haunted houses.

Milhouse's parents disappear on a cruise. Meanwhile Homer gets in trouble with Marge because he can't remember the color of her eyes.

After Marge launches a gym for "regular women," and becomes a successful businessperson, Homer decides to have his stomach stapled so she'll find him more attractive.

Sideshow Bob opens a restaurant under an assumed name and lures the Simpsons to it, then, seemingly, dies.

In this Emmy-winning episode, Homer cannot remember the events of the previous night, when something terrible happened to Marge and his family disappeared.

Springfield gets the first in the nation primary and Ralph runs for president, promising to make America great again.

In this flashback to the era when Homer and Marge were together before Bart was born, Marge is attracted to her professor and Homer sings in a grunge band, Sadgasm.

In this Valentine's-themed show, the Simpsons explore the twisted romantic lives of Bonnie and Clyde, Sid and Nancy and Lady and the Tramp.

Bart befriends a cool older kid only to discover he is a plant working for Principal Skinner

Bart and Lisa are afraid they have killed Martin Prince.  Meanwhile Marge employs a reality TV show to discover if Homer is cheating on his diet.

Lisa takes ballet and becomes addicted to second-hand smoke. Meanwhile Homer and Bart make jerky.

Homer's former protege Lurleen Lumpkin returns with her no-good hamboning father in tow.

With the help of Cletus' daughter Mary, Bart raises a prize calf only to be terrified when it is sold for slaughter.

Lisa enters a film in the Sundance festival under the Chalmskin production banner.  The documentary proves embarrassing to her family.

Homer's mother returns to him for good--then dies.  To cope with his grief he tries to honor her unusual last wishes.

The season ends with Mr. Burns losing a penny, just as it began with him finding one. We see the rise of Lisa as Krusty's assistant, narrated by Mel.
