There is no time to breathe. It is a painful and heart breaking period. Fortunately, the supportive division chief superintendent is still around for a few days before his retirement. However, the group begins to crumble under the pressure. Roxane is having trouble with her conscience.

Their lives become dominated by lies and anything to save thier own skin! Inspector General Vogel goes after Caplan and his friends, with the help of the prosecutor. They try to implicate them in several shady cases under investigation.

Unable to repay his gambling debts, Morlighem is kidnapped by a gang. The kidnappers send photos of him being tortured along with a ransom note. If he wants to raise the money and save him, Caplan has no choice: he must turn to Lemoine. The countdown has begun... The ruffian gives him a job to do: a raid on an ATM, no less!

Caplan is between a rock and a hard place: he has agreed to organize an ATM heist with Lemoine to get Morlighem's ransom money. But when he gets there, Lemoine is nowhere to be found and he is in for a nasty surprise.

Time is running out and they still don't have the ransom money from Morlighem, once again outwitted by Lemoine! Caplan accepts Bordier's proposal, which is to re-recruit the veterans of the Reserve Research Unit. A top-secret operation is launched, a last-ditch effort to free Morlighem.

Lemoine's lawyer is found dead. Prosecutor Vanderbeke turns the investigation over to the Central Bureau of Banditry Suppression, headed by Major Marceau, instead of Caplan. Caplan and his men have no choice but to get their hands on Lemoine before Marceau does.

Lemoine is arrested by Marceau: the future of the VP police is about to be decided, right there in the interrogation room! But the ruffian only wants to talk to Caplan; he offers him a deal: if they get him out of there, he won't say a peep!
