Widow Grace Deerfield (Kathleen Noone) has several suitors in her town. However, none of them appeals to her. But when Lloyd Raines (Don Murray), a high school sweetheart, invites her and her daughter Max (Sydney Penny) to spend the weekend in San Diego, they gladly accept. Not only does Grace fall in love, but so does Max who's mesmerized by Lloyd's playboy son Kyle (Scott Reeves).
