Popeye The Sailor: The 1940s

POPEYE'S nephews find a horse who is a fugitive from a glue factory and try to convince Uncle POPEYE what a wonderful house pet it would make.

POPEYE is smitten with Olive Oyl but lacks the nerve to propose. His pal Shorty gives him some good advice and rehearses a proposal and marriage ceremony with POPEYE.

POPEYE and Bluto vie for Olive Oyl, the star singer and exotic Latin dancer in a Rio night club. POPEYE "goes Latin" and learns to "shake it the Samba way" to win the fair Olive.

Female blacksmith Olive Oyl is looking for a strong-man helper. POPEYE and Bluto compete for the job with hilarious results.

Through a series of flashbacks, we see POPEYE displaying his prowess in his motion pictures "Sinbad the Sailor," and "Ali Baba & The Forty Thieves."

POPEYE'S life-long foe Bluto uses a puppet to ruin the sailor man's romance with Olive Oyl.

POPEYE takes Olive on a visit to the zoo and meets up with zoo keeper Bluto, who makes a play for Olive.

Olive needs her furniture moved, and POPEYE drafts Shorty to help him. They run afoul of the law with their moving truck.

Bluto impersonates Superman and completely baffles both Olive Oyl and POPEYE as he pretends to stop an oncoming train that is barreling down the tracks at full speed.

Bluto tries to frame POPEYE with a ferocious lion and then outdo him on the flying trapeze.

Bachelors POPEYE and Bluto decide on a life free from women on their tropical isle. The fun begins when a shipwrecked Olive Oyl arrives on their island.

When Olive takes a job as a nurse in a hospital, POPEYE and Bluto try to impress her. They discover however, that they need a lucky break, like a fractured leg or skull, to gain admittance.

Olive the riveter rebuffs Bluto with a hot foot and gives POPEYE the cold shoulder. She finally has to call for their help when she welds herself inside a tank.
