When photography was in its infancy, the American West was still a frontier. This film gives insight into the complex relationship between photography and the West, and the dynamic decades of change during which photography is said to have "come of age." The stories behind the photos in this film, and the men who took them, is almost as captivating as the landscapes of their subjects.
