Ella makes the family give up the use of all electronic devices; CJ learns a surprising secret; a Hollywood actor does research at the barbershop for his next movie.

It's Malik's birthday and he wants a grown up party with a D.J., go-go dancers, and catered food; Plus, a new cell phone…Malik then says if he can't have what he wants, he doesn't want to have a party at all.

Ella is having drastic mood swings and snapping at Curtis, Calvin and the kids. She is also very hot, which causes her to blast the AC and make everyone else freeze. Ella talks to Claretha about it and learns that its menopause.

Calvin plans a surprise party when he learns his friend is coming home from Iraq. Meanwhile, Malik has to write a school paper about his role model, and Curtis and CJ try to bribe him into choosing one of them.

Curtis is annoyed with how spoiled the kids have become. He thinks they take things for granted and decides to teach them a lesson. He then makes them volunteer at the firehouse's food drive.

Kevin and Malik talk about a few guys at school who said they've done "it." And now Kevin thinks he and Malik are ready to do "it," too. So, against Malik's wishes, Kevin invites some girls, over to the Payne's house.

After selling baked goods and raising over five hundred dollars for the church's after school program, Claretha suggests that Ella start her own bakery business and she appoints herself as her manager.

The Paynes meet Miranda's parents for the first time. Calvin, who is very nervous, gets on Ella about cleaning the house because he wants everything to be perfect when they arrive. Ella agrees to cook dinner for the Lucases.

Calvin is ready to propose to Miranda, so he finally buys a ring. When he goes to show it off to the barbers, they laugh because the diamond is so small. Curtis is happy with the ring because it's within Calvin's budget.

Now that Calvin has his ring, he just needs his girl. So, he makes plans to propose to Miranda at a very fancy restaurant. But, after an encounter with one of Miranda's rich friends at the restaurant he has second thoughts.

After trying to propose to Miranda twice, Calvin decides to keep it simple and just propose to her at home. As Calvin practices his proposal, he realizes his ring is gone, only to find out that Jazmine was playing with it.

When Jazmine gets a perfect score on an aptitude test, it is believed that she is a genius. Her teacher, Ms. Giles, suggests that Jazmine be enrolled in a school for gifted children.

C.J. and Janine decide to let Jazmine have a "Just Because" slumber since a lot of attention has been placed on the unborn baby.

Grandpa Kelly comes to town and upon meeting Miranda, realizes he knew her in a past life. Meanwhile, the barbers befriend a homeless man who is searching for his son.

Miranda tries to get Calvin to go with her to complete their wedding gift registries, but Calvin doesn't want to go. He suggests that Miranda does the registries with Ella. Miranda is reluctant, but Ella is excited.

Everything is going awry with Calvin and Miranda's wedding plans and Calvin gets cold feet. The tailor put rhinestones instead of crystals on Miranda's dress, Calvin's pastor died and the caterer ran out of chicken.

Calvin, C.J., and Curtis are planning Calvin's bachelor party. Per Curtis' suggestion to keep the cost low, they decide to have it at the barbershop. Curtis then asks Ella if they can have a bachelor party, but she's against it

As everyone is preparing for the wedding rehearsal dinner, the women give marital advice to Miranda and the men give marital advice to Calvin, which is the total opposite.

It's the wedding day! The women are getting dressed at Claretha's, while the men are getting dressed at the Paynes. Calvin, who waited until the last minute to write his vows, is having a hard time with the word "forever."

Although all of the women are dressed and Calvin has his right tux, Miranda is still refusing to get married until her father arrives. Calvin asks Curtis if he'd walk Miranda down the aisle if Dr. Lucas doesn't make it.
