Shikamaru is promoted to chunin, and he and his squadmates celebrate at a BBQ restaurant. In the hospital, Lee decides to undergo a dangerous surgery to repair his body so that he can remain a ninja.

Naruto releases his Nine-Tail chakra and sends Sasuke flying. Sasuke counters with his Fire Style Jutsu, but Naruto extinguishes the flames easily.

Naruto and Sasuke release their ultimate weapons against each other, and just in time Kakashi arrives to stop the fight.

Naruto and the others are trapped in Jirobo's Earth Dome Prison. They try to pound their way out, but the walls regenerate each time.

Naruto, Sakura and Jiraiya search for information in a town in the Land of Rice Paddies.

Naruto, Sakura and Sasame are attacked by Kamikiri, Jigumo and Kagero of the Fuma Clan.

After they are freed from the Earth Dome Prison, Shikamaru and the others take off after the remaining Sound while Choji stays behind.

Jiraiya uses his Summoning Jutsu to call out Gamakichi. With Gamakichi leading the way, the shinobi advance up winding stairways and through long tunnels.

After Choji takes the yellow pill it looks as if he may win the battle, until Jirobo transforms into Second State, giving him immense power.

Sakura is cornered by Orochimaru! Just as Kabuto is about to hurl his kunai at her, Naruto comes running in.

Assuming that the Leaf Squad could never get past Jirobo, the remaining Sound ninja don't bother to lay traps along the way.

Neji takes on Kidomaru while the others continue their pursuit of Sasuke and the remaining Sound ninja.

Naruto tries to shield Sakura from an attack and is wounded by Kamikiri. Naruto laughs off his injury and counters with his Shadow Clone Jutsu...

Naruto gets upset when Jiraiya sets out on a sudden mission without him. Jiraiya tells him to undergo special training during his absence and hands him a scroll.

Kidomaru changes tactics and creates a bow and arrow to attack Neji's blind spot.

Shizune pursues Mizuki who has escaped from the Maximum Security Prison, but is overcome by him and the brothers Raijin and Fujin.

Naruto, Shikamaru, Kiba and Akamaru are in hot pursuit of Sasuke and the Sound ninja. Naruto and Kiba are upset that they have been unable to catch up and decide to try a surprise attack at night.

Akamaru sets explosives in the trees to trap Sakon. But an incensed Sakon turns the tables, and the explosives end up sending Kiba, Akamaru and Sakon off a cliff.
