New Animal Kingdom: Japan

A young fox tries to find a new territory on the island of Honshu, Japan. On his way, from spring to winter, he will come across several species trying to adapt to a constantly changing environment. In Tokyo, a family of tanuki has established its territory in a train station. In the mountains of Tottori, the giant salamander is slowly dying out, having difficulty adapting.

Winter has frozen the northern part of Honshu and Hokkaido. The fox has met a mate and is expecting a litter, but food is hard to find. They separate and begin a new journey to find food. In Okinawa, a Habu snake and an Indian mongoose are trying to find a new balance, as they have never coevolved in the same time span.
