Dangerous Truth

Getting too close to the truth can be dangerous. Alex learns this the hard way when, after his mother's death, he leaves witness protection in Athens to uncover the truth about his father's death.

In 2003, a BND team led by sniper Frank Jaromin is sent to extract a witness from Baghdad who can disprove Iraq's supposed weapons of mass destruction. In 2023, his son Alex hunts his father's alleged killer and uncovers a truth far more dangerous.

While BKA investigator Hanne Lay tries to expose BND informant Curveball as a liar, Frank becomes entangled in a conspiracy in Baghdad. In 2023, Alex is rescued from a perilous situation by Ivo Rebic, whom he believes to be the murderer.

In 2023, Iranian dissident Taraneh Rahman escapes Tehran with the help of BND. After a tense meeting, Josef Bardeaux breaks with his colleague over repeating past Iraq era tactics. Meanwhile, Hanne Lay closes in on Alex Jaromin's hiding place.

In his hideout, Frank tries to explain to his son why he had to lie to his family for many years about his true work at the BND and faking his death. The Baghdad DVD confirms that he was framed, but he refuses to collaborate with Hanne Lay.

Alex receives a call informing him that Simin Najeri, who is working as a translator for BND, has been kidnapped. He offers to release her in exchange for the Baghdad DVD. In Luxembourg, father and son discover they have been lured into a trap.
