Nobunaga Concerto

Modern-day high school student Saburou has no interest in history. He's sent back in time to the Warring States period, where he meets Nobunaga Oda, who turns out to look just like him. Brilliant but shy, Nobunaga asks Saburou to take his place.

Saburou, living out as Nobunaga, earns a reputation in Owari for being a fool of a lord. Yoshimoto Imagawa's spy, Denjiro, attempts to infiltrate the Nobunaga family as a retainer, but is seen through by chief retainer Hirate and quickly turned away.

Saburou meets Nobunaga's wife Kichou's father, the feared "Dousan the Viper", leading to a surprising development. War breaks out between Dousan and his son, Yoshitatsu, and Saburou sends support.

Yoshimoto Imagawa's massive army of 40,000 attacks! Oda's army has only 3,000. Will Saburou pull through this predicament? Meanwhile, Denjiro tries to infiltrate the Oda family again, this time under the name Tokichiro.

Saburou forms an alliance with Motoyasu (soon-to-be Ieyasu) in an effort to take Kichou's homeland of Mino. Meanwhile, Tokichiro remains diligent in his scheming to overturn the Oda family. A shadow that had been watching Saburou makes a move.

After his capture of Mino, Saburou has an unexpected encounter with a man who helps Saburou and his men to promote Yoshiaki Ashikaga, and bring them all to Kyoto. Saburou's party visits the site of Nobunaga's assassination -- Honnoji.

Enter Yamato daimyo Hisahide Matsunaga. He has with him something surprising. They meet up with Hanbei Takenaka, galvanizing Saburo's Oda army. Meanwhile, in the Azai family, to which Nobunaga's sister Oichi marries, things are looking a little tense.

Saburo's Oda family and the Tokugawa army have begun their attacks in Asakura territory. But during their campaign in Kanegasaki, a strange package arrives from Oichi, causing an unexpected turn of events.

The Oda army is finally at war with the Azai/Asakura alliance. Long-time retainer and father of Ranmaru Mori, Yoshi Mori, defends the castle on Mount Usa against the enemy, which now includes Enryaku-ji of Mount Hiei.

The Mori Brothers investigate a rumor of an Oni. The Oda family becomes even more powerful. Mitsuhide is shocked into making a great decision.
