Paris A capital tale

Starting from the banks of the Seine, a strategic location for river transport, the city developed into a medium-sized Roman settlement called Lutetia. Urbanization then continued with the development of the left bank, where the current Rue Saint-Jacques is located.

From the Revolution to the Commune, the capital underwent numerous transformations. The many popular movements prompted the authorities to redesign the city's road network. A significant portion of this work was entrusted to Baron Haussmann during the Second Empire.

Since the 1889 World's Fair and the construction of the Eiffel Tower, Paris has experienced two wars but also the construction of modern architectural projects, such as the Georges Pompidou Center and the Louvre Pyramid.
