The Great Food Truck Race

Seven teams of professional food truck owners begin the Great Food Truck Race in Santa Monica, CA.

Before the six remaining teams even make it to Tyler in Flagstaff, AZ, he calls to tell them their first challenge is underway.

In Santa Fe, NM, Tyler challenges the teams to use peppers to create the ultimate spicy meal for a $1,000 prize. Then, they must put their planning skills to the test as they have only one hour to shop for the entire weekend.

The final four teams are in for a steak-filled day in Amarillo, TX. Their seed money is determined by a steak-eating contest, and all the teams must add a steak dish to their menu.

When the top three teams arrive in Tulsa, OK, Tyler takes away their phones and internet access. All of their research, outreach, marketing and navigation must be done the old-fashioned way.

The two remaining teams have to hit three ethnic neighborhoods with three different ethnic dishes in Chicago.
