Young Dracula

Vlad returns to Garside. The Count is disappointed to learn that he intends to head back out on his travels and isn't bothered about becoming the head of the Dracula dynasty. The Count bribes Ingrid into getting her brother to stick around by promising her cash and her own private quarters.

Vlad's curiosity is aroused when Renfield lets slip that he is suffering from a breather cold. His suspicions are compounded when, following a violent cough, Vlad is exposed to direct sunlight and only suffers a mild singeing... The Count is forced to admit that Vlad is half-human. Vlad is hurt and angry that his father lied to him all these years.

The Count tells Vlad he's decided to turn Garside into a vampire themed hotel they're doing it in the Old Country and making an absolute killing. Vlad is against the idea until he realises this would be a great way of meeting his mum without rocking the boat. With Ingrid scheduled to go away to a VHC-do he does some research and 'commissions' artist Sally to create a scary sculpture.

It's fifteen minutes later and Sally is trying to come to terms with the fact that she's just met her long lost son and found out he's a vampire! Vlad apologises for tricking his mum and asks her to stay for a bit - he'd like to get to know her better. Sally updates George (minus the vampiric bit!) and she is more than happy to stick around - her big brother's place is sick!

The biter and breather families are living together and, for Vlad's sake, trying to get along... Their 'peaceful coexistence' is interrupted by a knock at the door - it's Asan, a young refugee, seeking vampire asylum at Garside. The Count is forced to invite him in, unwittingly allowing a trio of shadowy figures to follow behind.

It's an hour since the Shadow Warrior's attack and The Count is still celebrating their victory. It's a different story for a petrified Sally who is desperately trying to stay awake so she and George can leave as soon as the sun rises. The Count is certainly having a night to remember when he receives an auspicious message-by-toad.

From the lake within The Blood Mirror Elizabeta communicates with Malik, demanding to be rescued. When he is finally able to get down to the basement Malik's rescue attempt is thwarted by the Gargoyle Guardians. Ingrid, aware of Malik's machinations, brings in breather-nerd Piers to set up a security system - Malik's next attempt is met with low voltage UV lasers!

The Count shows Renfield the proposed, hideous death zone from the unstable Magister Maleficorum; it looks like they'll have to move further afield than he'd planned - Australia to be precise! The Count makes plans to hold an Open House for breather buyers (vamps are notoriously stingy!)

After the assassination attempt on Vlad, Roquelour, Head of Security at the VHC, assigns him a bodyguard until the Bounty Hunters are caught. Worried that the bodyguard will discover the truth about his fading powers Vlad suggests he and Talitha round up the Bounty Hunters themselves. Vlad has to suppress his human emotions when he tracks down the surviving Bounty Hunter, Farah.

The Draculas, Renfield and Talitha are going about their normal bedtime routine when they find themselves tied up or imprisoned in UV cages! It's all part of Shango and Asan's new plan to put Malik on the throne. However, the duplicitous trio didn't bargain for Vlad's waning powers and he manages to escape from the UV cage and untie Renfield.

The Count, already paranoid after the recent attacks on Garside, is beside himself when he, Vlad and Talitha are beset by a string of garlic bombs! A brave Renfield comes to the rescue but gets very little gratitude from The Count who refuses to bring forward his bite-by-date. After all the drama Ingrid casually suggests that they hire a security expert and put Garside on lockdown.

It's the day of Vlad's eighteenth birthday and he's anxious about his breather relatives coming to his party - what if the surge of Chosen One powers change him into an evil bloodsucker? We then see Sally and George en route in a cab and it's clear by the garlic filled balloon that Sally too is more than a little nervous about returning to Garside.

Asan updates his soldiers of the frond outbreak and Lazak whooshes off to inform Shango. Luckily, Piers, alerted by one of his security sensors, comes to George's rescue. Together they free Renfield and Sally, shackling Asan and Tagal. Morgan and Roq thank Shango for informing them of the strange plant and reveal that it's The Magister Maleficorum, which contains The Blood Seed.
