35 days ago, here are all of the residents of Crud yr Awel estate. Jan has yet to arrive.

Jan makes her first full appearance on the Close. HUW, the prison officer and reluctant drug dealer is convinced she is an undercover cop and is onto him.

Beti increasingly sees JAN as a good catch for Ben and is desperate to bring them together. Sali is bemused as to why JAN would want to invite Cerian to go Christmas shopping.

Gruff's suicide stuns all the residents. Jan has been away working and upon her return, she suspects that someone has broken into her house. Huw is obsessed with Jan's identity.

As the countdown to JAN’s demise continues, her world gets more complex as some of her neighbors want rid of her.

Tony is demanding his rent money from Caroline. Richard is invited by Jan to call at her house. Pat learns about Linda's close friendship with Roger and accuses her of lying.

Tony is bedbound and Pat tries her best to persuade Linda not to leave Tony for Roger. Huw attempts to drown Bobo in the bath, and Richard discovers Jan's true identity.

Pat blackmails Tony for his release. Bobo reappears on the Close.Five people gather in Jane's house, with one of them responsible for Jane's death. The prologue becomes the epilogue
