Air Show pilots and performers prepare to get back into the sky after a long winter. Former bush pilot and airline owner 'Super Dave' Mathieson has cashed in everything to chase his air show dreams. Flying a half-million dollar aerobatic plane, Super Dave is willing to risk it all to become an air show 'rock star'.

The Patriots Jet Team, the only private, all volunteer jet team in North America, fires up for its most ambitious air show season ever. Owner Randy Howell hasn't flown for the team in two years but is forced to climb back into the cockpit of one of the team's jets just days before their first show.

It's a rare 'over water' show for the private six-jet team but rain and low cloud threaten the performance. On Catalina Island, 'Super Dave' is faced with fog, a lost pilot and a flat tire as he tries to pull off his most important show of the season.

Patriots Jet Team owner Randy Howell is thrilled to be flying his vintage MiG-17 for the first time since September 10, 2001 in California. But a family emergency for Lead Pilot 'Wilbur' means the whole team may never get off the ground. Air Racer Pete McLeod battles thunderstorms to get his aerobatic aircraft to his first show of the season.

After being shut down by the FAA last season, The Patriots are looking for redemption at the prestigious Reno Air Races. But in Reno, the team is also haunted by memories of the worst air show accident in 40 years. Wing Walker Carol Pilon gets a chance to thrill a young fan. And 'Super Dave' finds himself in the middle of an in-flight emergency while test flying a new aircraft.

It's the busiest air show weekend for Super Dave and Pete McLeod as they attempt to fly at two different shows 150 miles apart on the same day. The Patriots Jet Team is set to perform its final show of the season at the home of 'Top Gun' - the famed Miramar Naval Air Base. But the team arrives only to find out the show has been cancelled.
