Alex Polizzi's Secret Spain

Alex begins her journey in northeastern Spain where she learns about local wines. She experiences the Fiesta de San Fermín, including the legendary running of the bulls, before conquering her fear of heights in Barcelona.

On the Costa Blanca, Alex samples paella and horchata in Valencia and views a chalice some believe is the Holy Grail. After stopping off in holiday hotspot Benidorm, she visits the tiny island of Tabarca.

In Andalucía, Alex visits the Tabernas Desert, where hundreds of spaghetti westerns have been shot. She seeks out tranquility and healing waters in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountain range and explores the city of Granada.

Alex stays at the Marbella Club, meeting the man who has played host to many A-list jet-setters. She visits the home of sherry, Jerez, and learns how it is made while admiring the amazing local horses.

Alex discovers the history, art and culture of Madrid, taking a tour of the Royal Palace and visiting the home of a Spanish aristocrat. She then heads south to Consuegra, where the windmills inspired the creation of "Don Quixote."

In Galicia, Alex discovers a lush mountainous region with a different climate and culture to the rest of Spain. She visits the Coast of Death, an ancient forest, the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela and a school for martial arts.
