Phantom, The (Original Serial)

In the unexplored jungles live the native tribes ruled by The Phantom. A supreme ruler who has taught them to live together in harmony. The sound of the tom tom's breaks the peaceful stillness, alerting the leaders to gather together for a meeting. The chiefs, medicine men, high priests and witch doctors begin to gather at Atonga village to await their leader and counselor, The Phantom.

Professor Davidson possesses part of the map that shows how to reach the Lost City of Zoloz. In order to take his expedition there, he must find the missing part of the map. Singapore Smith, certain there is treasure buried in Zoloz, plans to double-cross Davidson. Meanwhile, The Phantom is trapped by another faction, headed by Dr. Bremmer, a secret agent head of a ring of foreign saboteurs.

The Phantom discovers that a number of white outlaw's plan to attack the Davidson expedition. He manages to rescue the safari and is pursuing the jungle desperados.

Fearing that Professor Davidson and his associates will learn of his plans, Dr. Bremmer has his men capture the expedition. The Phantom comes to the rescue and battles the enemy.

In an effort to solve the theft of the ivory keys, The Phantom disguises himself. In doing so, he learns of a gun running plot. Alone and outnumbered many times, he attempts to stop the outlaws.

Byron and Mokue, on their way to Sitanna, run into an ambush. The Phantom rescues them and learns of the gun runners plans. He races to forestall them at Omdor Gorge.

Dr. Bremmer plans to dispose of Rusty and The Phantom. With Rusty as the 'come-on' trap, The Phantom unknowingly walks closer and closer to his doom.

Dr. Bremmer fails to learn the hiding place of the stolen ivory keys from Singapore Smith. When the Phantom finds them, Bremmer's men close in on him.

Attempting to stop Davidson from continuing his trek to Zoloz, Bremmer's men prepare an ambush at Martu Pass. The Phantom, after rescuing Diana, races to the pass to warn the expedition.

To get the Hastari tribe under his thumb, Dr. Bremmer concedes a fantastic idea.

To prevent Professor Davidson from learning about the seventh Ivory key, Dr. Bremmer has abducted Saka, chief of the Hastari Tribe. When the Phantom finds Saka, Dr. Bremmer carries out another plan to avoid discovery as the ringleader.

Still in their search for the seventh Ivory key, the Davidson expedition enters the forbidden domain of Tar Tar, ruler of Akida. The Phantom tries to bargain with Tar Tar for the missing segment of the map of Zoloz.

Tar tar's men capture Diana and bring her to his castle in the mountains. To gain her freedom, The Phantom agrees to fight Brutus, the savage gorilla.

Eager to reach the Lost City of Zoloz, before any of the others, Byron sneaks away from the expedition in the dead of night. The Phantom picks up his trail, which leads directly into Dr. Bremmer's hide-out.

Byron the traitor, has lured the Davidson expedition into Bremmer's trap in the catacombs of Zoloz. The Phantom tries to rescue them.
