Series premiere. Mild-mannered financial compliance officer Jay Bunani gets no respect. After attending a mindfulness seminar hosted by guru Sebastian Cilantro, he starts venting his true feelings towards those who mistreat him in e-mails he never sends.

Jay's life is in ruins -- he gets fired, his girlfriend breaks up with him, and he's a meme -- but things are about to get even worse for Jay. Only his obnoxious college pal, Max Wong, approves of his "courage."

Jay confronts Charley Siew, the internet journalist behind the meme. She advises Jay to do nothing and wait for things to blow over, but Jay decides to be proactive -- with disastrous results.

Jay finally convinces Veena to take him back, but he bows out after she admits she’s settling for him because she has no better option. Jay has hidden his disgrace from his parents thus far, but fate intervenes yet again.

Jay comes clean with his parents and tells them he will strike out alone. He approaches "meat magnate" Zacheus Lee about funding a yet-to-be-developed app and gets a job offer instead.

Jay takes note of a mysterious delivery at work and notifies journalist Charley Siew. Together they try to get evidence that Zacheus’ “prime meat” is actually cut with tapir -- an endangered species.

Jay gets fired -- again. He blames Sebastian Cilantro for all his problems and goes to confront him. When his family sees the angry email Jay sent to Sebastian, they assume he has murder on his mind.

Jay sees the error of his ways and makes things right with those he harmed. First, he helps Charley get evidence against Zacheus, bringing her job offers. Jay's own future is uncertain, but he's no longer afraid -- until he's kidnapped.
