A condemned murderer escapes from prison vowing revenge on the District Attorney who convicted him. Mysterious happenings occur, and a black masked, caped figure alludes the police. The District Attorney's daughter is kidnapped, but her boyfriend, a newspaper reporter, finds her in an adjoining asylum where the murderer plans to transplant an ape's brain into her head.
