Germany invaded Poland at the beginning of World War II This historic horrendous event led to the creation of the Polish Underground State the largest resistance movement in all of Europe Hitlers army continued its conquest of Europe conquered Paris and drove out the Allies in Dunkirk while Poles continued the fight in the underground

During World War II the Polish Underground State waged a propaganda war and its military intelligence stole Germanys greatest ballistic missile secrets It published underground press materials including newspapers and books conducted secret education and created a symbol of the resistance movement the Anchor of Hope

The courts of the Underground State worked tirelessly to ensure the safety of underground networks during World War II Germany continued its conquest of Europe and diversion activities were organized The Underground State also issued sentences against highranking German officers who were tried for war crimes and carried out their executions

Polands home army continued the fight for the liberation of Poland and the Warsaw Uprising soon broke out Terror returned as Stalin occupied Eastern Europe The war was over but the Poles were still fighting The Underground Army acted to liberate the capital before Stalin could take it
