Cranky the Crane teases the engines. When a storm hits and Cranky needs help, his opinion about engines changes. Three trucks arrive at the docks, but they are rude rather than useful.

Gordon wants a better view at the new station. After receiving repairs, Gordon goes to the opening celebration of the new station. On his way something jams and Gordon accidentally gets the panoramic view he's always wanted. Sir Topham Hatt has agreed to be spic and span and on time for Lady Hatt's birthday party. Dressed in his new suit, disaster strikes as he tries to get to the party on time.

James thinks he's an important engine. He also thinks if he came upon a tree, he could push it out of the way. When an old tree is blown on the tracks, James finds trouble. With gremlins about, things keep going wrong for Gordon when a very important passenger visits Sodor.

George the steamroller thinks rails should be ripped out and replaced with roads. He's very rude to the engines. When he nearly causes an accident with Gordon, Sir Topham Hatt gives George a rude awakening. Percy is excited for the Best Dressed Station contest. He's bringing flowers and decorations to Maithwaite Station. But when a stray ram is on the line, it's Percy who goes Baa!

Percy feels he's asked to work too much. After helping freight cars get unstuck at the mine, an avalanche threatens Percy. Harold rescues Toby after a break in the dam causes danger.

Edward scares Henry with a story about ghosts. On a foggy night at the viaduct, Henry and the freight cars get spooked. A new diesel is brought on to help Bill and Ben, but he has teething troubles.

Stepney goes to help out in the quarry, but gets lost on his way home and ends up in the scrap yard. Toby explores the castle and mine. He fears stories of the Old Warrior ghost, until he meets him.

Henry doesn't listen to Thomas' warnings about danger on the tracks and ends up in deep water. The Old Slowcoach becomes useful when the workers need a place to stay after a catastrophic fire.

The children ask Thomas for help when their playground is closed, but he gets distracted by rumors that Harold is going to replace engines. Oliver gets into an accident while working the mail train.

Percy needs to find something old, new, borrowed, and blue before a special wedding. While enjoying a boat ride with his family, Sir Topham Hatt learns railway engines are very useful.

Percy gets the excitement he's looking for when a coupling to his freight cars breaks, and the chase is on! James is upset, and learns that cheering others up can make you feel better.

Toad gets to go forward instead of backwards when freight cars decide to teach him a lesson. Duncan teases Peter Sam for crushing the freight cars. Rusty tells Duncan a ghost story.

Rusty tells Thomas about the worst winter in Sodor. Skarloey was working at the mines when an avalanche covered him in snow. There's trouble on the rails when the boulder in the mountain goes loose.
