The Pride of the Temp

Haruko Omae (Ryoko Shinohara) is an exceptional temp worker for the dispatch company Haken Life. Her latest job is with S&F, a major general foods company, though she demands no overtime, no working outside her assigned section, and a three-month contract. Joining her is Miyuki Mori, another Haken Life dispatch who ends up leaving important documents in a taxi on her way to work... (C)NTV

Takeshi Shoji (Yo Oizumi) takes Haruko to a client office as his secretary to show off his own skills. But when he learns of her own superhuman abilities, he loses face and they get into a heated confrontation. Meanwhile, Miyuki (Ai Kato) is cornered by a new PC dispatch employee, and begins taking on the tasks of full-time employees with a smile, trying to leverage her gentle character... (C)NTV

Having participated in a project on domestic tuna proposed by the Fisheries Department, Takeshi is put in charge of a tuna cutting show. He asks Tsune-san (Takehiko Ono), a famous tuna butcher, to clear his schedule for just one day. He then purchases a giant tuna and makes preparations, but... (C)NTV

Miyuki is shocked by just how small her first salary is, while Takeshi enters into business negotiations with a Russian company and Haruko is appointed as his secretary. As Russian wasn't listed as one of Haruko's skills, Takeshi decides to show off his own talents, but is overwhelmed by the intensity of the Russian buyer when negotiations begin (C)NTV

As the National Tax Bureau inspection begins, the HR Department decides to lay off contract employee Shigeru Ogasawara (Masao Komatsu). Kensuke (Kotaru Koizumi) decides to organize a sale for "shio musubi," but when Haruko and Shigeru go to a department store to do research, Shigeru ends up getting lost, enjoying a walk without getting any work done. Collaborating with a famous chocolate shop, S&F holds an event for Valentine's Day. They arrange for a short-term temp worker to act as announcer, but at the last minute, she fails to show up. Haruko, who has experience as an announcer in elections, grabs the microphone in her place, and the chocolates sell out. Takeshi arrives the next day with even more chocolate, but then... (C)NTV

Miyuki learns of a proviso in the recruitment guidelines for in-house projects that states "both within and outside the company," so she creates "Haken Bento," a plan for temp worker lunches. Showing interest, Kensuke brings together his department and updates the proposal. Haruko recommends that he submits the proposal under his own name, but he uses Miyuki's name instead. (C)NTV

Takeshi becomes the head of the Haken Bento project at the behest of Toshima Kirishima (Hiroki Matsukata). Kensuke is shocked, but decides to support him. Toshima also works to set up Takeshi in an arranged marriage with the daughter of a bank president, but Takeshi can't get Haruko out of his mind, and ends up visiting her after the meeting... (C)NTV

While Takeshi's broken heart is all the Sales Department is talking about, Kensuke completes the final presentation, and it is decided that a special sales fair for the Haken Bento will be held. But he is shocked to hear that Takeshi has already submitted his resignation and disappeared. At the sales fair, Kensuke realizes that the manuscript Haruko is reading came from Takeshi... (C)NTV

[Final Episode] Haken Bento is greenlit, and Kensuke is excitedly put in charge of the entire project. On her last day at S&F, Haruko calmly leaves at 6 pm after finishing work, just three days before the product is set to release. She gives her final advice to Miyuki, and says goodbye. But on the day Haken Bento goes on sale, unexpected trouble befalls Kensuke and his team... (C)NTV
