The Ultimatum

Ye Yuchen, the CEO of Phoenix Holdings, is involved in a murder case. She had planned to leave with her boyfriend, Zhida, but later decides to turn back to meet Fang Songqiao, a woman born on the same day, month and year as she was.

Rende brings models to his office, as he assumes no one will dare tell him off because of his mother’s position. Yuchen’s assistant, Anqi, is about to leave the office when she sees the intoxicated Rende frolicking in the office with two scantily dressed women.

Roxy is unhappy she lost her alimony because Songqiao caused Ben to be sent to prison. She threatens to sue Songqiao for revealing details of her venereal disease. Yuchen overhears the conversation between Roxy and Songqiao.

Sun Jie’s sister, Sun Min, meets Zhida at an illegal gambling den and refuses to let him go. Her idol is Zhang Feng and she believes Zhida is Zhang Feng. No matter how Zhida denies it, Sun Min is determined to make him accept her as his disciple.

Ruolin’s efforts to gain more power in the company fall through. Songnian makes Renyi the Deputy CEO and warns Ruolin not to side with either of the young men in the family.

Songnian realises the painting is a fake. Ruolin and Renyi blame each other. Songnian is upset his family members fell for Kangrong’s trick in an attempt to gain favour with him.

Zhida hones his gambling skills, as he is afraid Bai Yan will harm his daughter, Baoying. Sun Min tries to stop Zhida from flaring up and accidentally topples Songqing’s baking ingredient.

Songqiao recognizes Sun Jie as the boy who was punished along with her when they were kids. She reminisces about the past. Back home, Wenyu is still awake.

Zhida is too absorbed with Baoying to hear Yuchen shouting out at him. She cries bitterly. Sun Min tells Yuchen that Bao claimed Zhida lost his memory after waking up from a three-day coma, which followed seven days and nights of gambling in Macau.

Songqiao tries hard to break free. Thrown against the wall, she loses consciousness. Sun Jie turns up in time to save her. He runs after Kelvin after seeing Renyi by Songqiao’s side.

Sun Min returns to work and is grateful to Songqing for cheering her up. Still thinking she is a man, he is disturbed by her kiss.

Sun Min falls for Songqing. He also likes her, but is unable to accept that he has fallen for another man. Songqing is flattered when his idol Gigi expresses her feelings for him.

Sun Jie learns Bighead B has been killed. An eyewitness saw Sun Jie at the crime scene and his fingerprints were found there as well. Songnian and Yuchen are unable to post bail.

Just when Songqiao is at her wits’ end, Interpol officer He Chaoqun shows an interest in the case. Chaoqun and Songqiao find the spotlight mentioned in the testimony suspicious.

With help from Sun Jie, Yuchen manages to find out where Changrong is staying. She also gets to meet him at a golf club. Despite Yuchen’s objections, Renyi hands a cheque to Changrong.

When the conmen call to threaten Zhida again, he is forced to ask Yuchen to let his two friends gamble with him on the casino ship. The conmen release Bao and Baoying after winning $400,000.

Yuchen decides to stop Wenyu from further action. She promises to avenge her father and grandfather, and wants Wenyu to keep their relationship under wraps.

Yuchen turns up at the wake to pay her respects to Wenyu. Zhida senses something amiss. Yuchen worries when Songqiao suspects her mother did not kill herself, as her valuables were all intact, except her mobile phone.

Yuchen is relieved Songnian is in a coma. Sun Jie tells Songqiao off for being rash. He is disappointed she does not believe he had nothing to do with Heilong’s death.

Songqiao urges Sun Jie not to be anxious about Sun Min’s condition. Songqiao gets Sun Min to release her angst in a good cry. Songnian comes round but is paralyzed and unable to talk.

Chaoqun drags Songqiao away and tells her that he has set a trap for Sun Jie. Songqiao feels lost after confirming Sun Jie’s identity. Sun Jie is in the midst of trying to steal the chips when he remembers what Songqiao had said to him.

She feels uneasy when she cannot find it. Yuchen tells Songnian that Renyi died while trying to escape the police because of Uncle Hong’s money laundering.

On his deathbed, Renyi asks to see Songqiao. She is puzzled when he calls her, “Sister” and gets more curious when Yuchen is overly anxious about what he had said to her.

Chaoqun and Songqiao confirm that the numbers Renyi left behind referred his locker at the golf club. Unfortunately, Suzhen has taken Renyi’s belongings. Suzhen asks Yuchen to meet her at the office.
