Dragon Day in Glipwood is here! During the festivities, Janner Igiby has been put in charge of his two siblings. When the brothers are distracted, their sister Leeli wanders off and gets in trouble. As the kids flee, a secret power is revealed.

After two weeks homebound, the family yearns for normalcy. Podo heads to town to get updates on Fang Slarb, the kids play Zibzy and meet with Peet the Sock Man, and Janner and Tink aid Mr. Reteep and discover a puzzling map at Books & Crannies.

Janner crafts a fang-repellent necklace for Sara, but Tink interrupts with a mysterious new map. While Nia and Podo urge the mayor for increased safety, the Igiby kids follow the map, seek aid in an eerie manor, and uncover life-altering secret.

Nia and Podo return to a ransacked home by Fangs. Janner, Tink, and Leeli encounter Peet while fleeing horned hounds. They follow him to his tree house, seeking answers. To escape trouble, Slarb reveals that the Igibys possesses Anniera's jewels.

As the Fangs of Dang search for the Igiby children, the kids scheme about how to break Podo and Nia out of jail, but get thrown in jail. Nia, Peet, and Nugget stand up to the Fangs to protect Podo. The Igiby family flees the vicious Slarb.

The Igiby family seeks refuge at Anklejelly Manor and battles horned hounds. Peet safeguards the family from Fangs. During the fight, Anklejelly Manor burns and Podo is injured. Janner, Tink, and Leeli discover astounding truths about their past.
