A ten-year-old girl begins to question her unusual life in her family’s fortified compound. She discovers that once a month her father (Kit Harington) turns into a monster but is ultimately convinced by her parents that there is nothing to be afraid of. When the monster escapes, she must confront the realities of what her father really is and make the decision her mother never could.
