Julian receives a late-night call out to a cow that is giving birth, but complications with the delivery leave the lives of both mother and calf hanging in the balance. Naughty Labrador Alfie has swallowed a spatula while stealing food.

Julian Norton is called out on an emergency to a heifer that is in agony, with an object stuck in its painful, swollen and infected hoof. Peter removes a large lump from the head of golden retriever, Holly.

Julian faces the tricky task of castrating a group of alpacas whose owner has been using holistic techniques to pacify them. Peter treats a Yorkshire Terrier and the team try to save a stray cat whose leg has been snapped in two.
