Extraordinary People

Zinash Ali is desperate for doctors to remove a seven-pound tumor from her mouth. It started growing six years ago and now she can't sleep, has trouble breathing, can only consume liquids and is bullied when she goes out. There's no time to spare as doctors prepare for a complex operation in which Zinash's jaw will be recreated using her tibia.

Four-year-old America is suffering from a ravaging gangrenous flesh eating infection called Noma and needs emergency antibiotics to save her life. Two weeks ago her face was covered in scabs but now these have gone and it is open to the elements and disappearing fast. It's a race against time to stem the infection and give her the chance of a future.
