Professor Norman Reed returns home with his new wife, Paula, whose island upbringing and voodoo beliefs make his academic community uneasy. As jealousy and suspicion grow, colleagues try to break up their marriage and harm Reed's career. Tensions soon ignite fear, deception, and a battle between superstition and reason.
