The film is a sort of fictionalized depiction of the life of Ghatak through a character called Nilkanatha Bagchi, the protagonist.He is able to portray the agony, the disappointments,the despair and the frustrations of the man with success.Various glimpses of his life with shades of the character of the great man showcased in the film along with the socio political movement in Bengal at that time.
